2. Booking and Reservations

A booking is considered confirmed only after:

  1. The required booking information has been provided;
  2. The applicable deposit or full payment has been received; and
  3. Jalex Safaris or the relevant service provider has confirmed the reservation.

A quotation, itinerary, or proposed package does not constitute a confirmed booking until the applicable booking requirements have been completed.

Availability and prices may change before a booking is confirmed.

3. Travel Quotations and Prices

All prices provided by Jalex Safaris are subject to availability and may change before confirmation.

Unless specifically stated otherwise, quotations may not include:

  • International or domestic flights
  • Visa fees
  • Travel insurance
  • Personal expenses
  • Tips and gratuities

  • Additional meals or drinks
  • Park or attraction fees not specified in the quotation
  • Any other item not specifically listed as included

The final quotation will indicate the services and inclusions applicable to your particular booking.

4. Payments

Customers must make payments according to the payment schedule provided at the time of booking.

Depending on the package, Jalex Safaris may require:

  • A deposit to secure the booking; and/or
  • Full payment before the date of travel.

Failure to make payment by the agreed deadline may result in cancellation of the reservation and loss of availability.

Any applicable bank, transaction, currency-conversion, or payment-processing charges may be payable by the customer unless otherwise agreed.

5. Cancellations by the Customer

Customers may cancel a booking by contacting Jalex Safaris in writing.

Cancellation charges may apply depending on:

  • The date of cancellation;
  • The type of package;
  • Airline cancellation rules;
  • Hotel cancellation policies;
  • Safari lodge or camp policies;
  • Transport provider terms; and
  • Other supplier conditions.

Some bookings, deposits, promotional rates, or special offers may be non-refundable.

The applicable cancellation and refund conditions will be communicated to the customer where possible before payment.

6. Changes to Bookings

Requests to change travel dates, accommodation, destinations, passenger details, flights, activities, or other services may be subject to availability and additional charges.

Any additional costs resulting from a customer-requested change will normally be payable by the customer.

Jalex Safaris will make reasonable efforts to accommodate requested changes but cannot guarantee that changes will be possible.

7. Cancellation or Changes by Jalex Safaris

In exceptional circumstances, Jalex Safaris may need to change or cancel part of an itinerary because of circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Where possible, we will communicate changes to the customer and work with relevant suppliers to provide suitable alternatives.

Such circumstances may include:

  • Severe weather
  • Natural disasters
  • Government restrictions
  • Political or civil disturbances
  • Security concerns
  • Transport disruptions
  • Airline cancellations
  • Supplier failure
  • Road closures
  • Wildlife or park restrictions
  • Health emergencies
  • Other circumstances beyond our reasonable control

Where a supplier’s cancellation or refund policy applies, any refund will be subject to the amount actually recoverable from that supplier.

8. Travel Documents

Customers are responsible for ensuring that they have valid travel documents before travelling.

These may include:

  • Valid passports
  • Visas or permits
  • Vaccination certificates where required
  • Travel insurance documents
  • Tickets and booking confirmations
  • Other documents required by the destination or relevant authorities

Jalex Safaris may provide visa guidance or assistance, but visa approval is determined solely by the relevant embassy, immigration authority, or government agency.

Jalex Safaris is not responsible for losses resulting from a customer’s failure to obtain the required travel documents.

9. Flights

Flight bookings are subject to the terms and conditions of the relevant airline.

Airlines may change flight schedules, routes, baggage allowances, fares, or other conditions.

Jalex Safaris will assist customers where possible with airline-related changes, cancellations, or rebooking requests.

However, Jalex Safaris does not control airline decisions and cannot guarantee that a particular flight schedule will remain unchanged.

10. Accommodation

Hotel, lodge, camp, and resort bookings are subject to the terms and conditions of the respective accommodation provider.

Room types, facilities, meal plans, check-in times, check-out times, and other services are determined by the accommodation provider.

Where accommodation becomes unavailable due to circumstances beyond our control, Jalex Safaris will make reasonable efforts to arrange suitable alternatives.

11. Safari and Wildlife Activities

Safari experiences involve travel in natural environments and may carry inherent risks.

Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed because animals move freely in their natural habitats.

Safari itineraries may also change because of weather, road conditions, park regulations, wildlife movements, safety considerations, or other circumstances.

Customers are expected to follow the instructions of their guides, drivers, park authorities, and accommodation providers.

12. Transportation and Car Hire

Transportation and car-hire services may be provided by third-party suppliers.

Customers must comply with applicable road safety requirements and the terms of the relevant vehicle or transport provider.

Where a customer hires or uses a vehicle, they may be responsible for applicable:

  • Fuel costs
  • Traffic fines
  • Damage charges
  • Insurance excess
  • Parking fees
  • Tolls
  • Other charges specified in the rental agreement

Specific terms will depend on the transport or car-hire provider.

13. Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend that travelers obtain appropriate travel insurance before travelling.

Travel insurance may provide protection against circumstances such as medical emergencies, trip cancellation, baggage loss, delays, or other covered events.

Jalex Safaris may assist customers in obtaining travel insurance, but the terms, coverage, exclusions, and claims process are determined by the insurance provider.

Customers should carefully review their insurance policy before travelling.

14. Health and Safety

Customers are responsible for considering their own health, fitness, and ability to participate in planned activities.

Travelers should seek appropriate medical or professional advice where necessary before travelling.

Customers must inform Jalex Safaris of any relevant requirements that may affect the safe provision of services.

Jalex Safaris may recommend changes to an itinerary where reasonably necessary for safety.

15. Customer Responsibilities

Customers agree to:

  • Provide accurate booking and passenger information;
  • Provide correct contact details;
  • Make payments on time;
  • Obtain required travel documents;
  • Follow applicable laws and regulations;
  • Follow instructions from guides and service providers;
  • Respect local communities, cultures, wildlife, and the environment;
  • Behave responsibly throughout the trip; and
  • Inform Jalex Safaris promptly of any problems affecting their booking.

Customers may be responsible for costs arising from incorrect information supplied by them.

16. Children and Minors

Children travelling with Jalex Safaris must be accompanied by a responsible parent, guardian, or authorized adult unless otherwise agreed.

Age restrictions may apply to certain activities, accommodation, transportation, or destinations.

Parents or guardians are responsible for ensuring that children comply with applicable safety requirements.

17. Special Offers and Discounts

Promotional offers, discounts, and special deals are subject to availability and may have specific terms.

Unless otherwise stated:

  • Offers cannot be combined with other promotions;
  • Discounts may apply only to selected packages or travel dates;
  • Promotional bookings may be non-refundable or subject to special cancellation conditions; and
  • Jalex Safaris reserves the right to withdraw or amend an offer.

The terms applicable to a specific promotion will be communicated at the time of booking.

18. Third-Party Service Providers

Jalex Safaris may work with third-party service providers including airlines, hotels, lodges, camps, transport companies, guides, insurers, and other travel suppliers.

While we aim to work with reputable providers, the services supplied by these third parties are subject to their own terms and conditions.

Where appropriate, Jalex Safaris will assist customers in communicating with the relevant supplier.

19. Liability

Jalex Safaris will take reasonable care in arranging travel services.

However, we are not responsible for losses, delays, cancellations, injuries, expenses, or other consequences resulting from circumstances outside our reasonable control or from the acts or omissions of independent third-party suppliers, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude or limit any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.

20. Complaints

We want every customer to have a positive travel experience.

If you experience a problem during your trip, please notify the relevant service provider and Jalex Safaris as soon as reasonably possible so that we have an opportunity to assist.

Formal complaints should be submitted to Jalex Safaris as soon as possible after the issue occurs.

We will review complaints fairly and make reasonable efforts to resolve legitimate concerns.
